…
Are you sick of my home content yet? haha. It’s been a huge part of my life lately and really all I have been shopping for so I really hope you enjoy these posts! Because I love sharing little pieces about our home. It’s been a lot of fun decorating. And truly it’s finally starting to feel like home.
In May we did a lot of traveling. We went back to Michigan to visit one of my best girlfriends, her husband and kids and also to see Kurt’s parents. And then the weekend after that was Memorial Weekend and we were in San Diego to see my brother in law and sister in law and the kids. So we weren’t really home that much! And it’s funny to say, but when we got back from San Diego I remember thinking- ahhh it feels so good to be home. But it really felt like home to me!
Anyways, I’ve recently been doing so much shopping for my home. We had to buy a few pieces of furniture that needed to be replaced. And I have been buying accessories like pillows, coffee table books, etc. I’m waiting to get a few things in and then I want to buy a new coffee table. After that I think I’m done for a bit. We still need some artwork to go on the walls, but I told myself I’m going to take my time with that. I love this print, but I want to see how everything sort of comes together before I buy it. So here are 10 items I’ve recently bought for my home!
10 Items I’ve Recently Bought for My Home
Area Rug for our Living Room
Ahhh I’m most excited to finally receive this. And I’m so sad, but it looks like it’s sold out so it’s no longer available on Potterybarn’s website. So I can’t show you! When I first ordered it, it was suppose to deliver the beginning of June and keeps getting pushed out! But I’m really hoping it will deliver next week (that’s what the tracking shows at least). I bought this for a our main space to go under our couch and I love it! I’vs searched high and low for a rug (who knew it was so difficult) and I kept going back to this one. I really hope I love it as much in person as I do online.
Serena & Lily Chairs
I ended up buying two more chairs for my table over Memorial Weekend when they were on sale and I just got them last week! I’m so excited to have people over for a dinner party soon and we can all sit around my beautiful table 🙂 If you are looking to buy these chairs- I guarantee they will have a sale over the 4th of July so keep your eyes out!
Coffee Table Books
I have been really into coffee table books lately. They are a great way to add height and dimension when you are styling tables. And they are fun to read. I actually gave Kurt this one for you anniversary this year. I love to follow the traditional anniversary guide that who knows who made up. And for your fifth anniversary you are suppose to give the gift of wood. I found this book called Wood and it’s a bunch of really cool pictures of wood buildings, sculptures, etc. I wrote a nice note in it for him and it now sits on our TV stand. Here are some of the books I’ve purchased or that are in my shopping cart to buy:
Here is how I have some of these books styled on my console table:

TV Stand
I searched high and low for a new TV stand. These are really not that easy to come by! And finally decided on this one, after Kurt wouldn’t let me spend an exorbunt amount of money on this one that I really wanted haha. Anyway, I love how it turned out and it really ties the room together. It’s also a really great quality being from Target- it’s actually really sturdy which I was surprised by. They have a few other items that go with the collection like this cabinet, console table, or this side table.
Throw Blanket
I just got this in the mail and it looks so nice on our couch. And it really ties in the blue theme that I’m going for. It’s also super soft!
Floor Lamp
I’ve always wanted a light like this, but why are they all soooo expensive?! I think it’s crazy to spend a lot of money on lighting so this is an area that I’m always looking for a deal on. This on is under $100 and looks great next to my new leather chair!
Ratan Object
I’ve been looking for little objects to decorate with and I came across this one at West Elm. And it looks so nice on our TV stand! Ratan is a huge trend right now in home decor so I feel extra trendy with this piece haha.
Basket
I needed a new basket to throw blankets in when we weren’t using them and so I ordered this one. And I love the two tone of it. It’s really the perfect size for blankets too.
Mirror
I was shopping one day at Target and came across this mirror and had to get it! I love the nautical feel it gives. When I bought it, I really had no idea where I was going to put it, but I knew it would look good with the vibe I was going for. It now hangs above our console table and it ties everything together.
Picture Frame
I always feel like Kurt and I take a ton of pictures and then never get them framed. So I’m making it a point to have pictures of us and our family scattered around our house. And this is the perfect frame because I love anything marble!
