Have you noticed lately how it is much sunnier in the mornings? I’ve totally taken note of this because it puts me in such a better mode! The extra added bit of sunshine puts a little more pep in my step! I always find this time of year a little difficult to dress. It’s chilly in the mornings, but gets nicer throughout the day. Your office can either be freezing or hot, depending on how the weather is that day. So, it can be pretty tricky to dress as we transition into Spring. My only sound advise is to dress in layers. Add a cardigan to your short sleeve outfit, carry an extra pair of shoes you can change into and wear lighter fabrics. Here are 10 items I’m adding to my shopping cart that are perfect as we head into warmer temps!
I love jean jackets and I don’t know how I’ve survived this long without one in my closet (I just recently picked this one up!). They are easy to throw on with white jeans or dresses. And they add extra warmth when you need it. Or look super cute tied around your waist if you are feeling warm.
You need a cardigan in your closet this time of year. Again it’s perfect for layering and you can always remove it if you are feeling warm. I recommend either a tan or grey as those colors can easily mix and match throughout your wardrobe. I love this longer linen one. Also perfect for those chilly summer nights!
Nautical looks are always a big trend for spring. I just picked up this tee from Madewell and can’t stop wearing it. Every season, I buy these tees because they are the best!
4. White Jeans
You all know my love affair with white denim. They instantly make your outfit look more spring like. I live in my Citizens of Humanity pair, but am exited to try out this Madewell pair!
Spring mornings are always chilly, so most likely you will need a light weight jacket on your commute into work. I’ve been in need of a rain coat, so I just ordered this one. I ended up getting the navy, but adore the pink color too. Another option for another really cute light weight jacket is this one. I’ve been tempted to buy it, but have somehow resisted haha.
I live for a cute pair of sneakers! Last year I bought these adorable tassel ones and didn’t take them off! Every time I wore them I received so many compliments. These are perfect on the weekends for running errands or heading to brunch.
I’ve owned a floral print pair of pants for a few years now from Banana Republic and I get so excited every year when I can break them out again. This year, there aren’t many options for floral, but they have some super cute bright colored options like this pink pair or this yellow pair.
I have seen these wedges all over Instagram and I think they are just sooo cute! So I finally ordered myself a pair and now I know how everyone owns them. They are adorable and oh so comfy. And it’s great that you still get the Spring look, but the closed toe option will give you a little more warmth if you live in a cooler climate like myself.
9. Eyelet Top
This patter screams Spring and I love all of the ruffles on this top. It would be so cute for brunch on a Saturday or even with a pair of heels for date night! This is also another really cute eyelet top that I can’t wait to wear once it warms up in Chicago.
10. Mule
I’ve been slacking on this trend and still don’t own a mule. But it looks like it is here to stay! So this spring I’m going to grab a pair of mules. The weather warmed up here in Chicago last week and EVERYONE I saw that day had on a pair of mules. I’ve had my eye on this pair.
