Last year I really decided to step up my jacket for Fall game. I mean, I live in Chicago, the Windy City of all places, and I walk to work. I don’t have the luxury of turning on my heated seats anymore, so I finally decided to start investing in some pieces I knew would last me. And ones that were super stylish. So of course I turned to one of my favorite brands, Burberry.
Burberry has always been a favorite of mine. I remember when I was in high school, I wanted a Burberry bag like it was going out of style. I mean, I NEEDED it. And finally my parents decided to give in and get me a small bag. I still have it actually, although it’s a little out of style these days. After that, I was hooked. Well then, life happened and I was a broke college student and no longer on my parent’s budget. So, I couldn’t really afford many Burberry pieces.
Every year I would eye the Burberry jackets and think, ‘No way. Kurt would kill me if I spent that much on a jacket.” But then it got me thinking. I would wear it all Fall and Spring. And I am always cold, so I needed something that was going to keep me warm on the train. Why spend a few hundred dollars on a jacket that would last me a season or two and just get what I really wanted? So I decided I was going to save up for the jacket I had wanted for years! I used my favorite Digit app to help me save (you can read more about it in this post). After a few months, I had enough saved up and of course I ran straight to Neiman Marcus and purchased my Burberry jacket.
Although I love the classic quilted jacket, I decided to get the one with the hood and belt. A hood in the Windy City is a must! And I liked that it was a little longer so it would keep me warmer too. This jacket is actually a little heavier than a typical Fall jacket, but I love that! I wear it right up until we have fridged temps, so I get my money’s worth. It’s an investment for sure, but I LOVE it! And I am so happy with my purchase even after making it over a year ago!
