Happy Wednesday! I wanted to share with you some of my Christmas home decor this year. Living in an apartment makes it hard to decorate to the extreme like I would love to. We don’t have a lot of storage, so I have to be conscious about what I buy because we will have to store it for a whole year! I typically pick up a few pieces every year to add to my collection.
Funny story about our tree. Three years ago, it was Addie’s first Christmas and just before the holiday she decided to eat the plug off of our pre-lit tree. So I knew the next year I would need to buy a new one. Well, last year I was at Target and they had some decent trees on sale, so I picked one up. When I got home and started to unravel everything, I almost had a nervous breakdown. You would have thought something major was going on! But I was just so upset because the Target worker who helped me, gave me the tree with colored lights instead of white ones 🙁 Kurt talked me into keeping it and convinced me that it wasn’t that big of a deal.
Fast forward to this year. Lately, we have been giving Addie a little more freedom in the house. She stays out of her crate in the mornings. And when the dog walker comes in the afternoon, he puts her in the crate. Well, we didn’t even really think about it, but she got into the ornaments. There were a few days where the dog walker would text me saying Addie was ok, but she got into more ornaments. And there were the mornings where I would catch her sneaking off while I was blowing drying my hair and chew up more! And of course she always got to my fav ones!!!
This all happened right after we put our tree up. We were so busy getting everything together for our trip back to Michigan for Thanksgiving, so I never turned our tree on. I didn’t event think twice about it to be honest. So after we got home, that’s when I realized she also chewed the lights! And now the bottom half the tree doesn’t light up! I also decided to move all the ornaments to the top half of the tree so she couldn’t get into anymore. So, this year, we officially have a Charlie Brown Christmas tree. And I’ve been calling Addie the Grinch all season for destroying my tree!!!!
^^ my poor tree this year!!
Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas!!!
