Over the years, I’ve come to accept that it’s really hard to be a blonde. But that doesn’t stop me from asking to be blonder at every hair appointment! I’m a natural brunette, although it’s been a long time since I’ve seen my actual hair color. My dad was a hairdresser years and years ago and always pushed me to get highlights. So at the young age of 13, I started dying my hair and I haven’t looked back since! I’ve been all colors over the years- dark brown, red highlights, dirty blonde, you name it. But my absolute favorite color is the blonde I am today.
Being a blonde is a lot of maintenance and on top of that you need to make sure you are using the correct products at home. After trying so many, here are the best products I’ve found for blonde hair. And some new hair tools I’ve been using lately and loving.
R+Co Dry Shampoo Paste

This is one of the most unique products that I have ever used! It works like a dry shampoo, but you also get a ton of texture and grittiness from the product. I’m really surprised that I like it so much because I’m a smooth hair kind of girl. But I can’t go without it!
I’ve learned that dry shampoo is basically all aerosol in a can and I was going thru it like hot cakes. And I didn’t understand why. I was using a whole can within a month and at about $30 a can, I couldn’t take it anymore. When my hairdresser told me about this new product, I was intrigued and had to try it out. I’ve had my jar for almost two months and I still have more than half of it left! I’ve also found that adding this product to your hair even after you first wash and blow dry helps to keep the greasiness away.
R+Co Shampoo & Conditioner

The last time I got my hair done, I asked my hairdresser about what her favorite blonde shampoo was and she immediately said this brand again. I was almost out of my current hair products, so I decided to give it a whirl. And once again this brand does not disappoint. The actual shampoo and conditioner have a purple tint to it, yet it is safe enough to use every day (or every other day in my case) on your blonde. It helps to maintain the esthetic of your hair without having to do a weekly deep clean with the dark purple shampoo. I’m hooked on this brand and I can’t wait to try the Blow Out Balm and the Frizz + Static Control Spray.
GHD Hair Straightener

I decided to upgrade my hair straightener and I can’t tell you much much this has changed my hair! First off, it heats up within 30 seconds. You plug it in and almost immediately it is ready to go. And you only need one pass over your hair and it is stick straight. But what is truly amazing is my hair stays straight for the entire day and doesn’t frizz up. When I was using my cheap tool, the second I walked out of the house my hair would begin to frizz up. The edges on this straightener are also curved which means you can use it to curl your hair. This was one of the reasons why I bought this straightener. I haven’t mastered how to curl my hair using it yet- it’s way harder than it looks!
Blow dryer

Every few years I always have to replace my hair dryers. And I knew the time was coming when I could hear my old hair dryer starting to make funny noises on me! I needed to act fast because I didn’t want to be in the middle of blow drying my hair and it die on me. After loving my hair straighten so much I decided to go with this one. I got it home and after using it for a few days, I just didn’t like it. It wasn’t powerful enough and it didn’t get hot enough for how expensive it is. So I decided to return it and go back to the hair dryer I’ve been using for years! Except this one was even more powerful- a win in my book!
I highly recommend a salon strength hair dryer. They are powerful, get hot and dry your hair so much quicker. And they don’t damage your hair. I will never go back to using a cheaper, less powerful hair dryer. When you have thick hair, anything that cuts down on drying time is a necessity!
