And here we are at the end of March. This month dragged on for me. I mean really dragged on. But at the same time I can’t believe it’s already over. It seems like just yesterday we were wrapping presents and getting ready for Christmas. I blinked and it’s already Spring. Not that I am complaining or anything because I am so ready for warmer weather! March has been taxing on me and while I can’t go into detail about it right now, I promise I have a post coming in April that will explain everything.
Ok now onto some more fun things! I did so much Spring shopping this month and although it is still chilly here in Chicago, I can feel the warmer weather starting to break thru. Even just being able to come home at night and it still be light out has really changed my mood. Our apartment has very minimal overhead lighting, so we really feed off of the natural light. I wanted to take a second and look back on the month and share my March favorites with you. Whether it be a new top I’m loving, a new restaurant we tried or a good new lipstick I found. Think of it as a monthly recap of Cashmere & Jeans!
March Favorites
- Favorite Purchase: I’ve bought quite a few new items this month, but this sweater tops the list. I originally bought it in tan and navy and had all intention of only keeping one color. But I couldn’t part with it! I love this sweater so much that I wear them every other day. It is a really good basic that is still modern and updated. It sits a little shorter and more cropped like on your body, but that is what makes it more modern. I adore the fit of this sweater so much that I caved and also bought it in the lavender!
- Favorite Food: This probably sounds so silly but we are obsessed with these pancakes! You have to try them because they don’t taste like anything I’ve ever had. And they are jam packed with protein which means you won’t be starving an hour later. We’ve tried the buttermilk and dark chocolate and I can’t decide which ones I like more! We eat them the normal way with butter and syrup on the weekends, but I’m sure there is a much healthier way you can eat them. And they are seriously so easy to make. It is just the mix and water and that’s it! So you don’t need to have a ton of ingredients on hand. Try them-you won’t regret it!
- Favorite Beauty Item: I picked up this Urban Decay Lipstick after one of my favorite bloggers I follow was raving about it. And I swear it makes my lips look more plump and fuller. It’s amazing! And at a really great price point- only $17! I picked up the color Heartless and I’ve worn it in this post and this post. But they have an insane number of colors. I was a little overwhelmed at Ulta!
- New Furniture Purchase: We were finally able to pack up Addie’s crate!! You don’t even know how wonderful this is because it took up so much room. We have let her out of her crate now during the day for a good couple of months and we haven’t had too many issues. She’s gotten into stuff here and there but nothing major (she’s still alive, right?). So now that we have extra space where her crate was we decided to buy a desk. And it is seriously becoming one of my favorite little nooks in our apartment. We decided on this desk and this chair. And I’ve been shopping the last couple of weeks for accessories. I’ve shown some of the progress on Insta stories and plan on doing a mini reveal once it is all completed. I can’t tell about nice it is to have a desk and chair to sit at to do all of my blogging! Sitting at our island really hurts my back lol.
- Luxury Purchase: I bought my first big girl bag purchase and I couldn’t be more excited!!! Originally I had my heart set on this Gucci one, but I couldn’t pull the trigger on it. Something was holding me back. And after doing a little more research I decided to go with this Prada tote. This is the type of bag that is NEVER going out of style and one that I will have for years to come. I picture passing this down to my daughter someday and her loving it just as much as I do. You can see it styled in this post here, but I can’t wait to wear it more and style it with even more outfits.
