It is finally starting to get warm out and with that comes patio season! This is one of the most exciting seasons here in Chicago. All of the restaurants start to get out their patio furniture. And as soon as the weather warms up, people flock to these patios to have a leisurely brunch. It is a sign of warmer weather! So today, we are going to talk about what to wear to a casual brunch.
I’m not one to get overly decked out to head to brunch, I’m a jeans and tee girl by nature. But I always want to look cute and cozy. And this outfit is perfect for that! I love a good white tee and this one is so cute with the eyelet and peplum details. It makes you a little more dressed up than jut a typical white t-shirt.
Brunch Spots in the West Loop, Chicago
I can’t write a post about what to wear to brunch and not touch on my favorite restaurants we go to! We live in the West Loop, Chicago and mostly try to stay local especially for brunch. It is so nice to wake up and walk to grab breakfast and is one of the reasons why I love Chicago and the location we currently live in. We have an insane amount of restaurants all within blocks of us.
- Beatrix– If you haven’t tried Beatrix yet you have to!!! OMG my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The lemon, light and fluffy pancakes are like nothing I’ve ever experienced. They are incredibly fluffy and melt in your mouth. They also have a really good coffee and pastry shop. If we don’t have a lot of time, we head here for a quick meal. They have a huge patio out front and if that’s too packed, all of their windows open up and they have these huge ferns hanging in the windows. So regardless, if you sit outside or inside- you still get to enjoy the weather!
- Pulican Quality Meats– This is a butcher shop that has a cute little patio during the summer and a few seats inside. It’s a great place to grab a quick and delicious breakfast. We always get this egg and bacon biscuit sandwich. And it comes with potatoes with this amazing cheese sauce that is also a little spicy. We can never order anything else because this is so good!! Pricing is also super cheap. Our breakfast is under $20 (no alcohol), which is SO cheap in Chicago.
- The Pulican– This is right across the street from Publican Quality Meats and they have the same owner. The menu is always changing here, but their food is always amazing! The thick cut bacon is to die for! And this restaurant has a really cool atmosphere. The tables are long so you sit with other people and make new friends!
- Johnnies Snack Shop– This is a hole in the wall spot, but is one of our favorites! It’s one of those places that you can roll out of bed and eat a nice simple restaurant. It’s also very reasonable! There is nothing fancy about this place which is one of the reasons we love it. Sometimes you just need some eggs and pancakes and no gimmicks.
- Little Goat– The brunch here is amazing, if you can get in! Usually there is a line wrapped around the block. So I would recommend a reservation here. They also have a tiny coffee shop next door so you can grab a coffee and a sweet treat if you didn’t plan ahead.
- The Great American Bagel– One of the best bagels I’ve had! This place is great for a quick and easy breakfast. And they make the most delicious Chai Tea Lattes!
- The Eastman Egg Company– OMG this place is a tiny little gem. It is super cute inside and their food is so fresh. You can build your own breakfast sandwich and add any toppings you want. It is super fun to come up with your own concoction and the food is incredible. Another great place for an easy brunch.
Now that my mouth is watering and I’m starving, I’m off to grab some brunch with Kurt hahah. What are some of your favorite brunch spots in Chicago?
