Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Now it is officially Fall- my favorite season of the year! It’s so funny because Kurt absolutely hates this time of year. He says it’s the gateway to winter and cold and snow and no one likes that. He does have a point, but he will never persuade me to hate this season!
Anyways today I wanted to talk about my top beauty products that I use. I am the type of person that when I find something that works for me, I don’t stray from it. If I love it, I am a repeat buyer for years to come! So I thought I would share my go-to’s with you today!
My 12 Must Have Beauty Products
R+Co Dry Shampoo Paste, $28
This is the only dry shampoo I use now and it is the best stuff ever! When my hairdresser first told me about it, I was like, a paste?! It sounded so weird to me. But this stuff works so good! Take the tiniest amount in your hands and rub them together. And then rub it into your scalp. It sounds like there is no way it would take away your grease, but it works wonders. And the jar lasts so long! I usually only go thru about a jar every six months, which is nothing! I was using a can of the aerosol dry shampoo every month at $30 a pop- so this is a deal!
Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter, $44.00
This product is magic! And the more and more I use Charlotte Tilbury’s products, the more I love them! I use this as the first step before I put anything else on my face. So I use it like a makeup primer but you can also use it as highlighter after you put your foundation on. It makes your makeup last all day and my face doesn’t get shiny by the end of the day, which I’ve always had issues with. I’ve never found a makeup primer that I like because they are all very greasy feeling. And all the ones I’ve tried in the past have made me breakout. This product has never made me break out! I’m shade 2 Light.
Tarte Double Duty Shape Tape Concealer, $27.00
One day I was doing a little research on what the top concealer’s are for heavy coverage and this one came up on every blog I came across. I recently changed up my foundation to a lighter formulation but needed a heavier concealer to use to cover up blemishes and redness in my skin. What I was using just wasn’t cutting it! So after reading all these blogs and everyone recommending this product, I ran to Ulta! And let me just say I am in love with this product! It makes your skin look flawless, but still natural looking. I don’t think I will ever stop using this product- it’s that good! I am shade Light.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, $24.00
This is the only mascara I use now. And every time I branch out and buy a new one, I regret it immediately. This mascara makes your lashes look incredibly long and makes them look so thick. It’s the best of both worlds. I get compliments all the time on my lashes looking so long and it’s because of this mascara. They make a travel size version too for half the price if you want to try it out first! Shop it here.
Nars Bronzing Powder, $40.00
I’ve been using this bronzer since college! I’m not going to tell how you long that’s been haha but let’s just say I’ve been using it for many years. It’s the best color too an doesn’t make you look orange at all. I am color Laguna.
Anastasia Brow Wiz Pencil, $21.00
I am all about a very bold brow even though I have lighter hair. It completely changes up your face and I love the look of it. When I get my eyebrows waxed, I also get them tinted darker. My eyebrow lady is amazing and does the absolute perfect color for me. She even adds a little black into the dye because I like them that dark! If you’ve ever had your eyebrows tinted you know it doesn’t last that long- maybe a week or week and a half if you are lucky. So once the dye wears out I fill mine in with this eyebrow pencil. This is the best one I’ve ever used and it’s super easy- you can’t mess them up, I swear. I use color Medium Brown.
Kiehl’s Lip Balm, $9.50
This is another item I’ve been using for years and years and years! I know it’s a little pricy for lip balm but this stuff works wonders. For a good year, I gave up on it. I was like, I’m not spending almost $10 on a lip balm anymore! And I was using some stuff I picked up from the drugstore. Well I just couldn’t take it anymore. My lips were always chapped and peeling and my lipstick never looked smooth. It was always dry and cakey looking and I hate that! On a whim, I decided to order this lip balm again and I’m so glad I did! My lips were back to their soft, subtle feeling in no time. Now I have these tubes stashed everywhere from my purses, bathroom to my drawer at work!
Kiehl’s Hand Salve, $23.00
This is another item that I just cannot live without! I absolutely love this hand cream and don’t know what I would do without it. It is non greasy which is very hard to find in a hand cream. And you just need the tiniest bit of lotion. I swear after using this for a week, you won’t believe the difference it will make. Your hands will be smooth and not chapped anymore. I stock up on this stuff during the Nordstrom anniversary sale every year. This is also a great stocking stuffer gift or something to give the ladies on your team at work (I gifted the ladies in my office this last year at Christmas!). I know it’s pricey but a little goes a long way and this tube will last for months.
Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in color Heartless, $18.00
This is my go to lip color! It is the perfect light pink color and I wear it almost every day. You will also see it in a lot of my blog photos! Not only is it a great color, but the formulation is amazing. It goes on smooth and lasts for hours. And it doesn’t dry out your lips. I also swear that it somehow makes your lips look bigger than they actually are too. That’s a win in my book!
Kiehl’s Re-Texturizing Serum, $59.00
Noticing a trend here? I love Kiehl’s products! I don’t know what I would do without this item in my beauty routine. A girlfriend raved about this product, so I decided to try it. And now I see what she was talking about! At first, I was a little nervous to be honest. When you first feel the serum, it feels a silky and I always get nervous with those types of products because they usually make me break out. But this product did the opposite of that! After about a week of using it twice a day my skin never looked better! It was baby smooth and helped at preventing blemishes. They make a small travel size bottle for only $19 and I highly recommend it! Shop it here.
Malibu Hair Treatments, $3.70
If you are a blonde like me, you will love this product. Typically the last few weeks before I need to get my highlight’s redone my hair turns brassy and orange looking. And I can’t stand it! My hairdresser told me about this product and said to use it about once a month. I started using it and it is the best thing ever for your hair and keeping your color looking bright and light!
Beautyblender, $20
I can’t say more good things about this product! It totally lives up to all the hype you hear about!! It makes your makeup go on EVEN and flawless looking. And your makeup doesn’t look cakey at all. I starting using this to apply my foundation and also my concealer and I will never go back. In the past I’ve spent a ton of money on makeup brushes (I have Trish McEvoy brushes, which don’t come cheap!), but this $20 sponge is now my go to. If you buy this sponge, I highly recommend also getting this cleaner to use. I found it to be a bit difficult to clean without it. And you will want to clean your sponge every few days at least and this made it a lot easier.
There you have it- 12 of my all time favorite products! These have already been in my routine for years and aren’t going away anytime soon. What are some of your go to beauty items?
