Alright, are you ready?!?!?! The 2020 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is about to begin and today I’m sharing all of the details with you! This is always one of my favorite sales to shop. I think I like the hunt and thrill of it all. And it doesn’t help that everyone is always talking about it!
As you can imagine with all things in 2020, the sale will be a bit different this year. But I actually like what they are doing. Launching on Friday (July 24th) an entire online catalog will be available for you to preview the sale. Usually Nordstrom sends out a magazine of a few select styles to your home, but this year they did away with it. I’m personally for this change because it was a big waste of marketing money in my opinion. And they are previewing every single item that is part of the sale!
My recommendation is to start a wish list and as you are browsing the preview, add any items you might want to your wish list. That way you can narrow down what you actually want to buy. And when the sale finally goes live, its really easy to add the items to your cart that are on your wish list and checkout.
It can also help you budget and get an idea of what you want to spend. In years past, I always go into a panic when the sale first goes live. I feel this rush because you never know how fast items are going to sell out. So I quickly browse, add items and checkout without really giving it a lot of thought. By previewing the sale online first, I’m excited to get a better idea of what I need vs. what I want.
Ok, so everyone can see what will be included in the sale starting on Friday, but the sale doesn’t actually go live until August 4th. But that is only if you are the highest card holder at Nordstrom. To check your status, log into your credit card and it will tell you your level. I’m very happy to report I am an Influencer status so I can start shopping August 10th! And if you don’t have a Nordstrom credit card, you can start shopping on August 19th.
Always shop the sale as early as you can (see chart above) because items sell out fast. This year, I’ve heard they didn’t buy as deep or as heavy so I expect items to sell out even faster than previous years. The last couple of years they also have not done any re-stocks. Once an items is sold out- it’s sold out! BUT if you really want an item, keeping checking because they might get returns.
Another trick I also recommend is if something is sold out online, call a store. The sales associate can help you track down the item in one of their stores and ship it to you for free.
I will defiantly have coverage of this sale like I have in years past, but I won’t be shopping in store just due to all of the circumstances going on right now.
Start making a list of items you might need for fall and get ready to shop one of the best sales of the season!
Dates to Remember
