As promised I’m sharing another beauty haul hits & misses with you! In case you missed it, I started a new series where I talk about new beauty products that I’ve tried over the course of a month or two. Part 1 can be found here.
Last month was my first attempt at going into a Sephora store after they had opened back up after the pandemic and let me just say it was a really strange experience. I had to return a few items so I had no choice but to go into the store. And before you entered they gave you a long list of do’s and don’ts. So let’s just say, sadly, that it wasn’t your typical Sephora experience.
I love browsing in store and touching and swatching all kinds of new makeup on my hands, but that is a big no-no right now! And I can see why. They don’t want the samples to get exposed and potentially spread the virus. So you can’t touch or feel anything :(.
I tried this new foundation which you will see under the hits section. And I had to have a sales associate help me to find the right color. The only way she was allowed to color match me was by putting a drop of the foundation on a glass board she had and she was sort of able to get it as close to my face as she could. I wasn’t able to put any of it on my face, touch it, feel the texture- nothing! It ended up working out and we found the best match. But times are very different even when you go to buy makeup!
I also wanted to point out that Sephora is having a sale right now! Take $20 off when you spend $100 or $15 off when you spend $75 with code WELCOMEBACK. The sale goes thru Sunday so now is a good time to stock up on some items you are running low on or try something new. I ended up placing an order for this, this, this, this and this. Anyway, here is this months beauty haul hits & misses.

Ilia Skin Tint SPF 40 Foundation (I’m shade 4 Formosa)
I have been on the hunt for a more natural looking foundation to wear on the weekends with just a little bit of concealer. On the weekends, I usually don’t wear a ton of makeup unless we have plans because I like to give my skin a little rest. This foundation is amazing! It is very lightweight, but still has great coverage. And I love that it has SPF 40 in it, so I can skip my Tula sunscreen step when I’m wearing this. I’ve also mixed a little of this in with my foundation that I wear daily below and that gives you the absolute best coverage. It also has hyaluronic acid in it which everyone should be using because it helps to plump your skin. This stuff is amazing! I’m shade 4 Formosa.
Too Faced Natural Nudes Lipstick (Shade Send Nudes)
Wearing this Too Faced lipstick in Send Nudes– my new fav!
…
I bought and reviewed this lipstick in my beauty haul hits & misses part one and loved it so much, I had to grab another color! The first color I bought is called Stripe Search and its more of a pink/nude color. So I decided to go full on nude shade with Send Nudes and this has now become my go to lipstick. I actually really wouldn’t call this a lipstick. To me, its more like a lip balm but the colors are all so pigmented. It gives you the most moisturized lips with the perfect amount of color. I’m hooked on these lipsticks!
Charlotte Tilbury Blush (Shade Love is the Drug)
I absolutlely LOVE Charlotte Tilbury’s blushes. They are highly pigmented so a little really goes a long way. But by the end of the day you still actually have blush on your skin! So many that I have tried over the years always wear off, but this one stays put all day long. Love is the Drug is the color that I picked up and it is a bright pink color that is perfect for these summer months!
Charlotte Tilbury Kabuki Brush
Seeing a trend here- I love Charlotte Tilbury products! Seriously she can do no wrong in my book. This is a new brush and of course I had to try it out. It is incredibly soft and works wonders. I use it to apply my bronzer and it goes on so soft and smoothly. I’m really impressed! It also washes up really nicely even with the light bristles. I washed mine right before I snapped these photos above and it was dark brown with my bronzer. And it all came out with a little baby shampoo and this cleaning mat to wash it out! It’s like new again.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Longwear Foundation (I’m shade 3 Cool)
I have been wearing this foundation since December so this was actually a replenishment for me. And I absolutely love this foundation! It is a heavy coverage, but what I mean by that is you will not see any dark circles, redness or blemishes once you smooth this over your skin. You skin looks flawless after it is applied. And you don’t get that thick feeling of wearing a heavy coverage foundation. You skin feels like it can breath and actually looks really natural. I love this stuff and will likely never switch to anything else because this one is so good. I’m shade 3 Cool.
Beauty Haul Misses
Farsali Rose Gold Skin Mist
I have been on the hunt for a face setting spray and decided to give this one a try after a beauty blogger that I follow raved about it. I ended up returning this item almost instantly because I couldn’t get past the scent! The smell was just awful to me but I am also really sensitive to smells so take that as a grain of salt. I don’t like anything too over powering and this definitely was for me.
I will say that it went on very nicely. The spray was very fine so after I finished my makeup, I never had any issues with smudges after I sprayed it. I also think it was making me breakout and was just too moisturizing for my skin. This would be perfect for someone with drier skin and who wears a lot of powder makeup!
Nécessaire Body Lotion
I’m still really on the fence with this body lotion. Everyone all over Instagram is raving about how amazing and wonderful this lotion is, so of course I had to try it out for myself. My initial thoughts were- this is it? I wasn’t overly impressed at all with it and I hate that it takes forever to rub into your skin. I mean you really have to rub it in or else you have white streaks on your skin.
What I do love about it though is that after its rubbed in, it is fully absorbed into your skin. You don’t have any of that greasy feeling left on your legs. Your legs just feel very smooth and hydrated and incredibly soft. So this is why I am torn! It really is a great product because I love how soft your skin feels. And its perfect for the summer months because you don’t get that greasy feeling. I’m going to finish this tube, but the verdict is still out if I will replenish again.
Milk Makeup Lip Balm (Shade Nug)
This is another item that came highly recommend from a beauty blogger I love and it was only $16 so I decided to try one out. And I’m just not that impressed with this lip balm. In fact, it dries my lips out and I find that I have to constantly keep re-applying it. It does smell very minty which is nice. And gives you a high shine effect. But I just don’t find myself reaching for it because it dries my lips out.
A bonus product that I have to mention is this body cream! I got it as a sample with one of my orders and OMG the smell is amazing! It’s beachy and powerful and is perfect for summer. I used my sample when I was home visiting my parents and my mom asked immediately what I had used because it smelled so good. She ordered a jar for herself immediately! I’m definently going to have to buy myself a jar of it.
Well, I hope you enjoyed this months beauty haul hits & misses! I love sharing and talking about makeup 🙂
