Happy February! Kind of crazy that it’s already February, but that just means we are one step closer to spring and nicer weather. But before the nice weather comes, we have to celebrate one of my favorite holidays- Valentine’s Day! Usually, Kurt and I have gift cards from Christmas and we always save them for a nice Valentine’s Day dinner. But this year will be a bit different. While restaurants are now open in Chicago with limited capacity, we are still aren’t comfortable dining in. So I’ve had to get creative with how we are going to celebrate this year. I thought I would share some of my ideas and also some fashion to wear and of course gift ideas!
Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day This Year
- Since the holiday falls on a Sunday I actually thought it would be a cute idea to have brunch instead of the typical dinner. I was thinking of making pancakes (this mix the absolute best!) and using these cooking cutters to make them heart shaped.
- If I don’t end up making breakfast, I want to order these heart shaped bagels. How cute are they?!?! I’m really leaning towards doing this because I think these are just so cute haha.
- My go to every year is to usually send Kurt Georgetown Cupcakes. They are seriously the absolute best! And I love the heart shaped box they come in.
- If you want to send flowers, I’ve used this company and this one too. I’ve always wanted to order flowers from here because they look so pretty! And these flowers last over a year. They are on the pricier side, but they really do last. I bought Kurt this small one for our anniversary almost three years ago and they still look great.
- We can’t forget about our furry friends either! Addie loves these treats and I love how cute and festive they are for every holiday!
- And you can always order a heart shaped pizza! We do this every year too depending on when the holiday falls. Although this year, Kurt told me we were going to order a regular pizza and I could cut it myself into a heart because they charge you so much more and you get way less. I just had to laugh at him haha. He has a point, but it’s Valentine’s Day and I need a heart shaped pizza!
