…
So you might remember this post and this post back at the end of last year. I started this mini series in hopes of sharing more beauty products of items that I have been trying and loving. And also ones I’ve tried that I haven’t liked so much. I meant to share this every month, but I don’t really know what happened haha. So today I’m sharing another beauty haul and there are tons of items!
I also want to share that the Sephora Spring Savings Event is coming up- it starts April 9th. Which means you can save up to 20% off your purchase so if you see anything you want to try, buy it on sale during this event! And start filling your cart on items to stock up on. This time of year, I always place a big order on items that I always use. It’s better get them on sale! I will be sure to share on Instagram what I am stocking up on.
Beauty Haul Hits
Oui Thick Hair Shampoo & Conditioner
I don’t think I have ever been more in love with a shampoo and conditioner! It is simply amazing and your hair looks fabulous after using it. It does exactly what it says it will do too- it makes your hair feel extra thick which is kind of insane. I already have thick hair, but it was starting to feel a little thin because of all the IVF drugs I had been using. They were really starting to take a toll on my body.
I tried this after my mom raved about it and I couldn’t get over just how amazing my hair felt. I will say that I originally just bought the shampoo and didn’t get the same feeling. So I really recommend the shampoo and conditioner together. I’m hooked! I also really want to try the hair mask next. Stay tuned I will add it to the next beauty haul if I try it.
Slip Silk Pillowcase
If you buy one thing from this review, it has to be this one! I am so obsessed with my silk pillowcase and it’s one of my most favorite items from this beauty haul! I actually got mine over the summer at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, so I have had a lot of time to sleep on it. And it has made a world of difference in my hair. With my old pillowcase, I would wake up the next day with day old hair and have to use heat on it to smooth out the top because I would get kinks. With this pillowcase, I don’t have to do ANYTHING to my hair the next morning. Most days, I run a brush thru it and call it a day. No kinks, no weird bends- nothing!
Silk is also suppose to be amazing for your skin. I haven’t really noticed any changes in that because I think that’s a little harder to see. But my hair has made a great improvement. I know it seems a little pricey for what it is, but I love that I am using a lot less heat on my hair.
Charlotte Tilbury Setting Spray
I actually have come to really love this product. You gently spray this on your face after you are done with your makeup. The mist is so fine and gentle. I love this as a last step because it seals in your makeup and it also sort of melts your makeup together, giving you a more natural look. I didn’t think I would like this product as much as I would. Usually I buy the smaller version (only $20) and it has lasted me quite a while.
Billy Razor
These razors were all the rage a few months ago and of course I had to see what they were all about. And let me just tell you the rage is true! It is the smoothest shave I have ever had and is another favorite of mine in this beauty haul. I don’t get knicks or cuts on my legs and I am not a gentle shaver- even when you first change the blade. It’s amazing. I swear I can go longer in-between shaving too. It’s crazy! AND the best part is that you get 4 blades for under $10 a month- that is so cheap!! It works off a subscription, which I am not always too keen about, but I have been so happy with the razor that it takes the need to add one more thing to my Target list every month. This is a must try!
Anastasia Brow Gel
This is one of my best kept secrets- I love this brow gel! It makes you brows look so full and adds a little color to them. And also keeps them in place without that weird sticky, stiff feeling. For $9 this is a must try! I am shade Medium Brown.
Laneige Lip Sleep Mask
I am a HUGE fan of this lip product and it is a must have in my beauty routine. This was a re-purchase so I had never tried the vanilla flavor. And it is great. Very natural smelling. I just can’t get over how much I love this product. You slather some on at night and wake up to the absolute softest lips ever. If you have issues with dry and cracking lips- please try this! It says to use at night, but I also use this during the day. It just doesn’t last as long then. This is a must!
Olaplex Hair Oil
I have really come to love this hair oil. I apply it right after I shower to damp hair and then blow dry. Sometimes, especially during the winter months, I will add some to my ends on day two and three of not washing my hair to add moisture back to my hair. And to also helps prevent split ends. I think my favorite part about this oil is the bottle. A teeny, tiny bit only comes out at a time so you can really control how much goes into your hair. I usually pump too much oil into my hands and am left wasting product and worse, oily hair with other products. This really lets you control how much you want.
Bumble & Bumble Clarifying Shampoo
I really wanted to try a clarifying shampoo because I didn’t feel like I was getting all of the product out of my hair when I washed. I found this one because it had the best reviews and it was been a great addition to my hair care routine. Typically I use it every 2-3 times that I shampoo and it really helps to get my hair squeaky clean.
Slip Silk Scrunchies
I really wanted to try these scrunchies because I loved the pillowcase so much and these are just as great. They are so much healthier for your hair and prevent breakage. They also add a little oomph to your ponytail so it gives it this great volume!
Almay Eye Makeup Remover
This eye makeup remover is a product that I have been using for years and years- too many to count at this point. It is sooooo good! I have really sensitive eyes and this does not affect them at all. And it’s not oily at all which is why I love this product so much.
Tula Sunscreen
This sunscreen was actually a refill because I am so obsessed this product. I wrote a whole review on it if you are interested. I swear it has made my skin so much softer and even from using it. It’s a must in my beauty routine!
Native Deodarant
Oh geez, I would say maybe three years ago now, I made the switch to natural deodorant and this one was the first one I tried and loved it so much I have been using it ever since. It was definitely a process and one that my body and myself had to get use to. But well worth it in the end. I have stuck to the scent Coconut & Vanilla, but they have some new scents out like Grapefruit & Bergamot, Cotton & Lily etc. that I would like to try next.
Beauty Haul Misses
Charlotte Tilbury Bronzer
So this one I change my mind on just about every other day. I absolutely love the formulation of this bronzer. It goes on so smooth and really evens out your skin tone. I’m just not a fan of the color. It doesn’t give me much color, although it has been a little better for me during the winter months. But during summer, I felt like it wasn’t dark enough. So maybe I just need to try the darker shade?! (I have the color Fair).
I will say that I LOVE the bronzer is this kit so maybe I just need to figure what shade that is. Another thing to note about this bronzer so that yes, it is a little pricey- at first! The compact is HUGE and instead of buying it again, you can buy these refills which are much more affordable. One last thing, I do use this brush to apply my bronzer, which I mentioned in part 2 and I still love it! I think its the secret to how smooth the bronzer goes on too.
Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops
So these tanning drops are going to end up in the misses section because I don’t love them, but Kurt uses this product all the time and absolutely loves it. He is probably going to kill me for saying that haha. I just don’t think I am good with products like this because every one that I have tried I don’t like- so maybe its me! You add a few drops to your moisturizer at night and wake up the next morning, with bronzed skin. The concept behind it is genius. I am just not good at all with rubbing product in, so I wake up the next morning to splotchy skin haha. Kurt gets the dark color so maybe I also need to try a different color. And he honestly looks great when he uses them.
Olaplex Bond Smoother Styling Cream
The last few months I haven’t even been using this product if that tells you anything. I was using it after I got out of the shower, mixed with the hair oil before I dried my hair. But I didn’t really think it did anything so I stopped using it. And actually have noticed zero difference in my hair. So I don’t really see the need in this product personally.
Biossance Resurfacing Night Serum
So this isn’t really a ‘miss’. But if you remember, I mentioned this night serum in this beauty haul and I like that one way better. You truly wake up the next day with GLOWING skin. The problem is, it’s not safe for IVF, pregnancy or breast feeding. So while I loved it, I knew I shouldn’t be using it. Enter this night serum. It safe for me to use right now. And while it is great- it’s not as good as the Honeymoon Glow. I will repurchase the Biossance again, but the second I have a baby and am done breastfeeding, I’m switching back! I actually ended up giving my bottle of the Honeymoon Glow to my mom because someone else deserved to benefit from this amazing product- and she also loves it!
Olaplex Intensive Hair Treatment
This hair mask is just ehhh in my opinion. The application is really hard. It tells you to soak your hair, but that is almost impossible with the bottle it comes in. It would probably be better if it was a spray so you could get all of your hair. I do this mask every Sunday and I will say that once I blow dry my hair, it is so smooth and silky. And almost no fly aways. I just don’t think I’m going to re-purchase it again. Olaplex actually just came out with a new mask that I am very intrigued to try next. Maybe one day I will come back to this one, but for now I think it’s just so so.
Natasha Denona Eye Shadow Palette
I have been reallllly disappointed in this eye shadow palette. I had high hopes for it! But I’m just not a fan, mostly because the fall out from the shadow is sooo bad. The first time I used it, I had to take eye makeup remover to my under eye and then re-apply my eye cream because my under eyes looked black from the fall out. I learned after that, that I needed to tap it in the sink before applying to remove the excess. I will say the pigmentation is very strong and the shadow does last on your lid. I’m also really disappointed that after a few months of owning this, a lot of the pans are already cracking and have made a huge mess in my makeup bag. Not a fan of this one ๐
Hope you enjoyed this beauty haul and have found some great new products to try (or some to avoid haha!).
