I am so excited to share with you Sloane’s nursery today! Of course it is the first room in our new home that officially feels ‘done’. I have spent so much time and energy decorating this space and I am just so happy with how it turned out. You might remember, I shared my ideas for her nursery in this post here. And I have to say that really helped me to get my thoughts on paper.
This room feels extra special to me. Not only because I have spent many nights rocking this little babe to sleep, playing with her, cuddling her. But it was my dream to be able to have a home when we had our first child. When we first found out I was pregnant, we were still in Chicago and I had no idea how it was going to work out. But it did! We obviously always had a home, but renting is so much different than owning your own home. I wanted to be able to paint the walls, decorate and do whatever I wanted without having to worry how much it would cost to change it all back in a year when we went to move.
I also really wanted a space that could grow with her. And one that I didn’t have to keep re-inventing the wheel. I keep saying I sure hope she likes pink! haha Because we might have a problem if she doesn’t! So that was really important to me when I was picking out decor.
Anyways, when I first started dreaming up ideas, I knew I wanted the walls to be a light pink. And I think I found the absolute perfect pink! We used Benjamin Moore Paisely Pink (you can see all of our paint colors in our home in this post here. All images are unedited too) and it turned out better than I could imagine.
Outside of the pink walls, I knew I had to have these curtains. Once I had her rods hung and put the curtains ups- it made such a dramatic difference to her room. And don’t mind that they are way too long still. The last thing on my list has been to have the curtains hemmed and well, I haven’t gotten to it yet!
I also wanted to incorporate bunnies into her nursery and my absolute favorite part are these three bunny pictures. I almost didn’t get them because I thought it would be hassle when we eventually get her a big girl bed. And we would have to move the artwork and then there would be holes in the wall. And our walls aren’t smooth so that adds a whole other layer to it haha. But you get what I am saying!
I am so glad I decided to purchase these prints because they make the room! I ended up buying the prints here and had them framed thru Framebridge. And they did a phenomenal job! And so much cheaper than going to a local shop. In fact, I had a local shop frame this picture in her room and it cost me more to do this one print vs. all three from Framebridge.
I hope you enjoy this space just as much as I do!
