Things have been a little crazy around here! I truly cannot believe that we are in the middle of October and the holidays are upon us. We have so many fun events planned for Sloane the next few weekends for Halloween. I’m really not much of a Halloween person, but this year I am really into. I think because I know Sloane is going to have a blast! At least, I hope she will. It might be a little scary for her, but I think she will enjoy it once she realizes that she gets a ton of treats haha.
Last week was a doozy on our family and we all got Covid for the first time. I think I had it the worst because I could barely get out of bed. It was a tough week but glad we are thru that now. I’ve never been happier to have my health!
A couple of weeks ago, we did family photos for the first time since Sloane’s newborn photos and I can hardly wait to get them back. Above is what we wore. It ended up being really hot that day- we were all sweating at the end haha so I wore my espadrilles instead of boots. I’ve been putting this off because I haven’t been able to find a photographer that I really like who is local with affordable prices and I think I found it! From what I can see her pictures are gorgeous and right up my alley! And it was super convenient that we were able to do the photos in GP so less travel time. Will share more once I get them back!
A few weekends ago, we were up in Traverse City to see my parents and we had a really fun weekend with them. Very relaxing, but it was just what we all needed. It was our first long car ride since we potty trained Sloane so that was interesting haha. We stopped about every hour so the trip just took a lot longer than normal.
Sloane started gymnastics and really loves it so much. I ended up buying her this little leotard to wear to her classes and she looks so adorable in it! She always has the biggest smile on her face during gymnastics and loves learning new things and being able to run around. And it makes me really happy that I signed her up too….because I almost didin’t.
I hope I’m not jinxing myself by putting this out there. But recently Sloane has finally been sleeping in longer in the mornings. Typically, she gets up around 7am and during the week I always try and get up around 6am so I am ready when she gets up. And then I can concentrate on her and getting her ready for school. I swear, for many many, months, the earlier I would wake up, the earlier she would wake up lol. So it made it really hard to get ready. Most days she would be up around 6:30am, but that was really just enough time for me to shower and eat a little breakfast.
Well, lately, she has been sleeping right until 7am. And some mornings I even have to wake her up! It’s been amazing! I feel like I can finally get myself ready in the mornings for real now. I have the extra time to spend on my makeup and also curl my hair. It feels so nice to be able to do a little more for myself. And even if she is up early for some reason, she loves to watch a show in the mornings and cuddle on the couch so I can wrap up whatever I am doing.
I guess what I am trying to say is, it does get easier (in some ways, harder in others). And I can see why couples get pregnant and have another baby!
And here are some shopping finds I’ve found while searching lately!
- I love the light pink color of this belt bag. I swear by these bags and they are all I wear now. The sherpa is really nice for the cooler months and as we head into winter.
- I ordered these boots for Sloane and they are the cutest things ever. We got them in the mail a couple of days ago and now she is refusing to wear them haha. I think she might be getting to that age where she is more opinionated and I’m not sure I’m going to like it haha.
- Sezane is a newer to me brand. I’ve never ordered from them before, but I am loving all of their new arrivals. They have a very classic, but feminine feel to them and I want everything. Here are some of my favorites- this sweater, this top, this is going out top, and this top. Everything is so gorgous!
- Hill House launched their plaid holiday collection and their dresses are just so good! These would be perfect if you are going for a more festive holiday photo. Or just something cute to wear during the holidays. My favorites are this dress with the pretty collar and this red plaid long sleeve dress. It’s hard to pick my favorites!
- I’m obsessed with these designer look for less boots. I’ve loved this style for years and have never seen a good dupe until these. Love!
- My favorite pj brand launched their holiday collection and they are so good. Don’t forget about yourself this holiday season! I love this pair and this pair.
- I love this Peter pan collared sweater so much. I think I am going to order it for myself!
- My mom got Sloane this plaid flannel top and it’s pretty much the most adorable thing ever. I also want to grab her these plaid leggings. I love plaid this time of year.
- Ok, J.Crew launched new arrivals this week for holiday. And let me tell you , they are all so good! I added so much to my cart. Adore this red sweater, this lady jacket, this skirt and this puffer jacket.
Have a great week!
