…
We have been so busy lately- in a good way! Lots of home improvement projects around the house, doing fun things with Sloane and more. I am getting ready to go to Mexico for my girlfriend’s birthday in a few weeks. We were supposed to go a couple of weeks ago but had to change it last minute. I was a little upset at first because I was really looking forward to it. But it’s given me more time to do a little more shopping haha. And now I’m excited for it all over again!
I think I’m going to do a post before I go on what I pack. Or I might share my outfits after my trip. But that means I need to be really diligent about taking photos and I’m not always the best at that while on vacation. I like to relax and take a little break! Either way, I’ve done quite a bit of shopping and they are all really good finds 🙂
Home Improvement Projects
We have been doing so much around the house lately. This is the best time of year to tackle the to-do list since we are home and don’t have a ton of plans. I laid out what I want to accomplish each month in this post. And honestly, I think I was a little aggressive with it haha. Some of them might need to push out or get re-evaluated.
Powder Bath Update
We are so close to our powder bath being done! Here are my initial plans for it. And here is my review on the wallpaper we used. We have a couple more minor details we need to finish up. I swear these are always the hardest to just get done haha. We just need to dedicate a couple of hours and do it. And I ordered a roman shade a few weeks ago for the window. I used this fabric and I can hardly wait until it’s done! I will share where I had it made- it’s come highly recommended so I can’t wait to see the finished product.
Third Floor Bathroom
Randomly, Kurt decided to grout the tile in our shower on our third floor bathroom. This was not on our list to do, but it was really gross and did need to be done. A little two hour project turned into a week long one haha. Things always take so much longer to do than you think. I’m shocked at how good it makes the shower look! We already have white tile so everything just pops now.
It really has my creative wheels turning now! This bathroom has so much potential and I’m excited to start re-doing it. We really didn’t expect to tackle this project this year so it will be a really slow process and one we do as we get extra time. I’m thinking we will re-grout the tile on the floor. It is white tile and looks really gross right now so if the shower told us anything, this is going to look amazing!
We have this wall that has this wood paneling on it. It looks ok but it wasn’t done very well so there are a few pieces coming off. We plan to tear it down. If we can, we will paint the wall. But I have a feeling the wall is probably in bad shape under this paneling so our plan is to add shiplap. I actually hate shiplap haha, but the more I see it, the more I dislike it less. I’ve seen it used in some bathrooms and kind of like it. The more I see it, the more it is growing on me.
So the plan is to shiplap that wall if we need to. Paint the walls white- there really isn’t that many walls because most of it is this paneling or tile. I want to paint the cabinet a fun light blue or green, add new sconces, a new mirror, new shower curtain, rug, accessories, etc. It is going to look so good!!!!
Sloane’s Closet
Our next project is going to be Sloane’s closet. I want something that can offer a little more storage so I ordered this closet system to add. I plan to paint the inside (we never had the closets painted when we moved so slowly doing that ourselves) and then have this installed. We will see if Kurt and I can tackle it first, if not we might have to hire someone to put it up. I’m really excited to have more shelves and be able to add baskets and get a little more organized.
Shopping Finds
I’ve been doing so much shopping lately! So here are some good finds I’ve found while browsing.
- I am obsessed with these espadrilles. I am thinking about ordering them in the navy, but I know I would also get a lot of wear out of the dark natural. Someone shared these and I clicked on them fully thinking they would be designer so I was pleasantly surprised when they were not. They look so much more expensive than what they are!
- These shoes are also super cute for Spring. Would be adorable with white jeans.
- I’m usually not one for a sweat pant set, but I adore this cardigan and matching pants set. Looks more chic!
- I’ve never bought anything from this brand before for Sloane, but this gingham bathing suit is just about the cutest thing I’ve seen! This pink terry tank top and skirt would also be so cute for her to wear to the pool.
- Here is another really cute (and more affordable!) swimsuit for little girls!
- I have a post coming next week on items for the kids’ Easter baskets, but I can’t get over how cute this little bunny bracelet is. Sloane loves her jewels (and bunnies!) so this is for sure going in her basket this year.
- Serena & Lily does it again! They launched a new dining room chair and I’m drooling over it. It’s so unique!
- Last week, I ordered Sloane’s Easter dress- I got her this one! I showed it to her and she was really excited about the bunnies. This was my first time ordering from this brand and they were super quick. I think it shipped like an hour after I ordered it. And came only a few days later!
- I’ve been obsessed with yellow this Spring and have been seeing it all over. I love this under $100 yellow dress. Would be really cute for Easter. Shop more yellow items here.
- I also have a thing for lavender lately and am loving this swimsuit top and bottoms. I’m contemplating ordering it for my trip.
- I’ve been eyeing a similar cardigan from a brand that is 4x as much and found almost the exact same one on Amazon. It it not adorable?!
- These are my favorite socks for Sloane. They look really cute with shorts because of the ruffle and they also have grippers on the bottom so she isn’t sliding around. Need to order some new ones for Spring (because ours aren’t that white anymore haha).
