From one holiday to the next! Did you all have a good Halloween? We had such a fun one! This year I slacked a bit and didn’t buy Addie a new Halloween costume, so she was a pumpkin two years in a row. But I don’t think she cared haha. She’s not really that fond of getting dressed up and I can’t say that I blame her. We ended up dressing her up and taking her for a walk around our neighborhood and it was the perfect timing because all of the kids were out trick or treating too.
And all of the homes in our neighborhood were so festive and they all did a really great job making it fun for all of the kids this year. The best was seeing the homes that constructed these long candy shoots. They would be standing on their top floor and this long shoot would go down to the sidewalk. So they could drop candy thru it, but still be socially distant. It was a pretty genius idea!
We then came home, ate some delicious chili that Kurt had made. And then we made a Halloween gingerbread house that I picked up from Trader Joe’s. We actually do this every year and I think we get better at it as the years have gone on. They are pretty fun to do! And we ended the night with some Halloween cupcakes from Sweet Mandy B’s (if you live in Chicago this is a must- they have the best desserts!) and a scary movie.
So here we are- officially Thanksgiving time! And I want to share with you my Thanksgiving tablescape idea with you. We don’t host Thanksgiving, but someday I can’t wait to do it. I even have my turkey roaster pan that I had to have when we got married that has never been used! Someday I will use it though.
I’ve been really enjoying pulling together a pretty table lately. I think probably because we are home so much and its a nice change of pace. When I was putting this together, Kurt asked if I was making him a fancy lunch haha. I actually had all of these items- the only thing I did end up buying was more napkins so they would all match. But I think its fun to play around and get creative with items you already have. And adding a few white pumpkins to the decor does the trick to make it Thanksgiving ready!
I hope you enjoy my Thanksgiving tabelscape! Now I can officially move on to Christmas haha and put my tree up!
