I figured it was about time that I finally share my 2020 Christmas home decor! I mean, it’s only been up since the day after Halloween. And I do that every year, not just this year. Halloween weekend usually falls on Daylight savings, so I use my extra hour to get my house decorated! I like to enjoy my decor for the entire holiday season. Things get busy and hectic (even this year) and I like to get it all done ahead of time.
It’s kind of crazy to look back at last years decorations and look at all of the furniture and accessories that has changed in just a year. Anyway, a lot of my Christmas home decor is old and from years past but I will do my best to link similar items. I have slowly bought a few items every holiday season….and now I feel like I have too much! I blame that on Target because every year they come out with the cutest items and it makes you want to change up everything.
This years bigger transformation was our tree! I wrote an entire blog post about how I added ribbon to my tree- see it here. And I really loved how it turned out. I have since added more red berry stems and it is just so pretty. I pretty much leave the Christmas lights on all day so I can enjoy it while working from home. Lately, I have been staring at it haha and thinking about what I will do differently next year to it. I might only do one color of ribbon or add the ribbon horizontally. You will just have to wait and see!
I absolutely love the tree collar I added to my tree this year. It makes the tree look so put together and really finishes it off. It also comes in gold, red and rattan if you are interested. I will say that not all tree collars are created equal and not all trees are cut out for one, in my opinion. And I can’t stand it when I see trees decorated with a tree collar, but there is a huge gap between the end of the tree and the collar! I know it’s me being picky, but it just look so tacky.
Make sure you pull the branches down to fill in more by the collar. Or that you get a tree collar that is high enough. They can be very pretty, but also look really bad too! Initially I was really nervous about how ours would turn out, but it’s perfect! It is going to be a pain to store because ours is all one piece, but I will figure that out after the holidays haha.
Another new item I added this year were these dark green velvet pillows. They are gorgeous in person. The color is so rich and vibrant. But I wasn’t really thinking about all of our animals and the shedding when I bought them. They attract the hair so much, so I am always vacuuming. I have been using this tiny handheld vacuum and let me tell you- I am obsessed! It is very light and powerful and gets the job done! I also use this about every other day to clean the snow that falls from our tree haha. Its so easy and convenient.
Enjoy our Christmas home decor! I am only going to link the Christmas items so if you are interested in any of our furniture, it is linked in this post or this post. Merry Christmas!
