I’m going to start by saying that yes, 100%, absolutely, Golden Goose sneakers are worth the splurge! I love mine so much that I decided to buy a second pair. And I would buy another pair!
First off, let’s start by chatting about the brand. I have to admit, I was very reluctant at first. Who would pay upwards of $500 for a pair of dirty looking sneakers? I was turned off by the price and also the style of them. I mean they are cute looking sneakers, but they are also a little out there. But then I kept seeing them….everywhere. And everyone was raving about them. After months of seeing so many people wearing them, I started to slowing like them more and more. And eventually I decided to give in and ordered myself a pair to see what the hype was all about.
I decided that I would go a little modest and ordered a tame looking white and black pair because I wasn’t ready to jump into the crazy color combos yet or the printed pairs. I needed a “normal” looking pair so that I would actually wear them.
And I wore them all the time! I bought my first pair at the end of last summer and wore them every chance I got and well into the fall months. They look cute with everything. I wear mine with leggings, jeans and I’m not much of a dress person, but they look adorable paired with a girly dress.
And then we went to Charleston last fall and my Golden Goose sneakers were the only pair of comfortable sneakers that I brought with me. My feet were so happy that trip. For as much walking as we did while in Charleston, my feet should have been sore and achy, but they weren’t at all. Kurt had just about a new pair of sneakers for that trip and he was complaining the entire time of achy feet. I was making fun of him the whole time because I was so lucky that my feet didn’t hurt one bit!

This past birthday, my good girlfriend came and visited me and we did a stay-cation downtown (which was so fun, by the way!). And I was telling her how I wanted to a crazier pair of Golden Goose sneakers, so she talked me into buying myself this pair for my bday! I haven’t really had a chance to wear them that much because then it started to get cold and snowy, so you will see a lot of these this spring.
While I’m glad I started out with a more mellow pair, I also love the crazier pairs! They are truly one of a kind and completely make any outfit. You could wear a simple tee and jeans and throw on a pair of crazy Golden Goose sneakers. And you’ve got a one of a kind outfit. Here are some of my favorites that I’ve found recently:
I do agree that they are a little pricy. But in my opinion, they are worth it for how comfortable they are. They do eventually get marked down and go on sale. You just have to be quick to checkout because they go fast. And it’s worth mentioning that ShopBop carries a selection of Golden Goose sneakers. And twice a year they have really a good sale that you can get up to 25% off full priced items. This sale will be coming up soon. So if you are in the market for a pair, make sure you check it out.
Overall, I love my sneakers. And as crazy as it sounds, I would totally buy a third pair!

I took the plunge and ordered a pair of GGDB sneakers!! Do you wear yours with socks? Also, I am so confused about the laces – to tie or to not tie! I got the low tops, similar to your first pair. Looks like your recommendation would be to tie that style? As always, thanks for your time and all you do!

AHhh congrats! You are going to love them!! I wear no show socks with mine, but you could go without too. I prefer socks because my shoes get too smelly if I don’t ha. And I like to tie my low top ones. They seem to fit better and I think that is why they are so comfy on me. I don” tie my high tops and I’ve found if I wear them for long periods of time my feet start to hurt because they rub too much. They aren’t as tight around your feet like I’m use to. If you follow fashion_jackson on Instagram she has a great tutorial on her highlights on how she ties her laces. She ties them on each side and they look more trendy and probably how I’m suppose to tie mine!
