I realize that summer is almost over (how is it August already?!). But I’m trying to live more in the moment these days and not plan ahead so much. Last year at this time, I was already buying fall home decor items so I think I’ve improved even if just a little bit haha (see how I decorated for fall last year in this post).
I’ve recently added some new home decor for summer and wanted to share the items because I think they are really great. And will be able to transition nicely into Fall and dare I say it Winter time frame. Somehow everything I bought is light blue. The items all add a big statement into our space which makes me happy in these uncertain times.

First up, are these pillows and I just love the color of them! For the price, they are really great. Why can pillows be so expensive?! Throw pillows are aways a great and easy way to immediately update your space. And I have quite the throw pillow addiction. I’m constantly changing them up every few months or so. When you go to buy your inserts, make sure you buy at least two inches bigger than the pillow. I was really unsure about this when I read about it, but it really does make a huge different. It fills the pillow out a lot better. And you get the perfect karate chopped pillow all the time! It will stay put until you move it.
A New Coffee Table Book

Recently, I also added this Gray Malin coffee table book. Have you heard of Gray Malin? He is one of my favorite photographers. Truly his work is breathtaking. And this book is so dreamy. We could also use an ‘Escape’ right now so its fun to dream even for a little bit.
New Dreamy Placemats

Last up, I added these adorable placemats to our table. Truthfully, they are on the pricey side, but I wasn’t able to find anything similar to this print. I really like how it ties in perfectly to the art. These placemats were actually the reason I decided to take the leaf out of our table. With the leaf we could seat up to six people, but these days we aren’t entertaining much. And these placemats are pricey, so I thought it was time to switch it up a bit. I actually really like the smaller table. I think it looks more cozy!
