Ok I am so excited with how my drapes turned out in my living room. I honestly didn’t think they would be this good. If you have ever priced out pinch pleat drapes then you know just how expensive they can be. The pleats add a more tailored look to your window and make them really crisp. I have other drapes in my home, but after installing these pinch pleat drapes, I don’t think I will ever go back. They look so much better in my opinion. Anyway, the pleats require more fabric which means more…money!
I wasn’t exactly sure what kind of pinch pleat drapes I wanted to add to our living room, but when I came across this affordable set from Amazon, I had to try them. And I am super impressed! First, you know I love the color. It adds a nice pop which is exactly what this room needed. My original design plan was to have this room really neutral and maybe some small touches of color here and there. But I just couldn’t do it! I needed more color. So adding these pinch pleat drapes in this beautiful light blue is exactly what this room needed.
The quality is truly really good. They feel nice and heavy with good tailoring. They have little weights sewn in at the bottom to help with wrinkles and to help them look crisp at all times. The back of the curtain also has a blackout liner, which is nice. We really don’t close ours at all, but it is a nice option if you want to add these to a bedroom. The lining on the back is also white so it blends in more when you see it from outside your house. I’m glad there is a liner because our house is yellow so I wouldn’t have liked the blue curtains showing thru.
They come with pins that you add to your curtain hooks. That takes a little math and measuring to make sure they are all uniform. My curtains ended up being a little too long. So to get that nice even bottom, I just raised up the pins a little more. It’s a bit of trial and error but once you get it- it’s good! I also had to steam ours a little. There were tiny little indents where the curtain was folded in the packaging. If that kind of stuff doesn’t bother you, then I’m sure over time they would go away. But I can’t have wrinkles!
As far as the hardware, I used. I went with this rod from Ballard Design and these curtain rings. It was a bit of a risk for me. I’ve always loved the look of a lucite rod especially with a crisp pinch pleat drape, but it was a little outside my comfort zone. In the end, I am so glad I took the risk because they turned out phenomenal!
Ok here are the final results!
