Happy Sunday! I thought I would change it up a bit this week and send out my post a day early. I know a lot of people will be traveling this week for the 4th of July and I wanted to make sure you had time to read because this is one of my favorite monthly posts! And I don’t know about you, but Sunday evenings I love curling up on the couch, reading blogs and doing a little online shopping!

Favorite Purchase- I picked up these adorable cherry pj’s from J.Crew Factory (top here and bottoms here) and I am obsessed. Not only are they extremely cute, but they are such good quality. I bought a size small in the top and a medium in the bottoms and they fit perfect. And, most importantly, they haven’t shrunk!
Favorite Food- Kurt has been really into cooking new dinners lately and I’m not mad about it one bit! This is the website where he has found a ton of recipes from. He has made shrimp tacos, stuffed peppers and this amazing quinoa sausage soup. Every week we try new ones and they all turn out so good! And the best part is that they are healthy. I always struggle with finding good recipes that taste good and are healthy too.
Favorite Beauty item- I didn’t do a lot of shopping this month, clothes wise because all my money this month went towards beauty products! I talked about how I got this new foundation and primer from Charlotte Tilbury in this post, which I am still absolutely loving! My makeup stays on all day and I’m not shiny by lunch time. These products have been total game changers for me. I was also super excited about this moisturizer I also picked up from the line. But sadly it was just not right for me. I kept breaking out and as much as I wanted to love it- it just wasn’t right for my skin. So I decided to book a facial. It’s amazing what a good facial will do for your skin because I’ve had this glow ever since! I bought this moisturizer and this mask that I am loving right now! So far, they both work really well for my skin! It feels so soft and best of all- I’ve had NO breakouts. I’d say that’s a win! More on my skincare routine to come 🙂
Luxury purchase- I finally caved and bought a pair of Golden Goose sneakers and let’s just say I am extremely happy with them! At first, I didn’t think they were my style, so when they started popping up everywhere I didn’t jump at it. But then I kept seeing them everywhere and girls styling them. And I thought they were so cute! Well once I decided I wanted a pair, I couldn’t’ find a color/size combo I liked anywhere! They must be re-stocking them for the Fall and when I saw this pair, I ordered them immediately. I haven’t been able to wear them too much yet because it’s been really hot, but they are so very comfortable! And they are adorable on.

What’s Next for July

I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago in my Instagram stories– the Nordstrom Anniversary sale starts in July and it is one of the best sales of the season! They just dropped their catalog (find it here) the other day and now I can’t wait. Truthfully, I wasn’t all that impressed with it, but don’t get discouraged because they always have a ton more options online!

The Nordstrom Sale

So what is this sale? The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is a pre-season sale. This means that they launch fall items and they go on sale before the season even starts, instead of the left overs that go on sale at the end of the season. It sounds crazy to start buying fall and winter items in July, but it is too good to pass up!

The sale starts July 12 but only if you have a Nordstrom credit card. I know this can be a huge pain, but having their card does give you a ton of benefits. You earn points for every dollar you spend and you get what they call a Nordstrom Note back after you spend so much. It’s like free money! I actually don’t own a Nordstrom card, but Kurt does hahah! And every year I steal it and go shopping- hey we are married, it’s all the same! If you are interested in signing up for their credit card here is where you can sign up.

If you are like, no way, I don’t need another card, the sale opens to the public on July 20th, so everyone can shop then. One of the awesome benefits of being a card holder is that you get early access to the sale. And a lot of items sell out fast. Nordstrom does a really great job of planning and buying plenty of inventory for this sale, but there is always a chance that your size shoe will sell out fast. And while Nordstrom does re-stock certain items throughout the sale, there is no guarantee. Oh yea, I also forgot to mention the sale runs thru August 5, so you have plenty of time to shop!

What you should be doing now

Now is really great time to clean out your closet and go thru your fall clothes. We actually just did this over this past weekend! Get rid of what you haven’t worn or what’s too old. And now you know exactly what you will need for fall. The sale can get overwhelming because there is so much stuff included. Make a list of items you know you need and when you see something that catches your eye that is on your list, you’re golden!

The best pieces to buy during the sale, in my opinion, are denim, boots or booties and I stock up on beauty items. I’m already starting my list for this year!
