Thought it would be fun to share my 40th birthday wish list today! My birthday is in a couple of weeks and I can’t believe I am about to enter a new decade. It seems like just yesterday I was celebrating 30! Crazy how time flies.
This last decade was one of the bests though- seriously! I got married, had Sloane, bought our first home, watched and celebrated all of my best friends getting married and having babies too! This next decade has a lot to live up to and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
The other day Kurt asked me what I wanted for my 40th birthday and I kind of froze. So this is for him to shop from haha. It feels like a bigger birthday and like I should ask for something sentimental so I’ve really tried to put some thought into it all. But really, I have everything I ever wanted with a great husband and the cutest baby girl. So this is just the fun stuff.
I also thought you could use this as a gift guide of sorts if you are looking to get your Christmas shopping started. There are some great gift ideas for the women on your list or items you might not have thought about to add to your Christmas list.
Anyway, I am excited to celebrate my birthday. My girlfriends and I are doing a big dinner downtown Detroit and staying the night. Really looking forward to the quality time with all of them. And then Kurt and I will celebrate with our family and also a dinner for just the two of us. We will be celebrating my birthday all month long haha ๐
My 40th Birthday Wish List
Dutch Oven– This is my one regret of not registering for when we got married almost 10 years ago! I didn’t think we would need it or use it often for the price when I was making my registry. But we eat so much soup in the fall and winter that I know I would use it a ton. It’s been on my wish list for years. The 5.5 quart in white is the one I have my eye one!
Blanket– I’ve been wanting to know what the hype is about this blanket and have had it on my wish list for a while. We are also about to enter cozy season so I think a new blanket is needed. I am always wrapped up in my Barefoot Dreams blanket which I love. But I need one to keep downstairs so I don’t have to drag it around all the time haha. The Cornflower color in the regular size would look perfect in our newly designed play room!
Everything Bowl– I am a long time lover of Mackenzie Childs and most of my collection is the Royal Check. I’ve had my eye on this bowl. It’s beautiful, but very practical too. I’ve also had my eye on this serving dish (would be cute to add snacks, cheese, crackers, etc. to this) and also this bowl in the large size. I have the medium size and I don’t think you can ever have enough of them- especially when hosting!
Cabbage Dinner Plates– I just adore these plates so much!!! Eventually I would love to collect the whole collection, but I want to first start with six of the dinner plates. I think they would look so beautiful displayed in my bookcase in my dining room.
Crossbody Bag- I adore this bag so much. It’s a classic that I know I will have in my closet for years. And I don’t have a black bag, so I do really need one haha. My parents just got me this adorable crossbody bag as an early birthday gift, so two bags might seem excessive, but I love it nonetheless!
Bud Vase– One of my favorite bloggers launched a collection with Mackenzie Childs this fall and this bud vase is part of the collection. It is so sweet and I just love it so much. Would be so cute styled on my bookcase in my dining room. And I also love this berry bowl that is part of the collection. Such a cute gift idea and something you would use in a lot of unexpected ways.
Workout Equipment– This is more of practical gift! I have been loving The Sculpt Society workouts. Truly, they have transformed my body in ways I didn’t think were possible. The more I do the workouts, the stronger I’ve become, so I am ready to invest in the equipment now. There are tons of classes you can do without equipment which is what I have been doing. But these will take my workouts up a notch.
Bracelet– I’m much more of a bracelet person than a necklace person and I have been loving the charm bracelet trend. I can’t get over how cute the Mama charm is. And it’s something you can add more charms to in the future.
Ballet Flats– My closet is really missing a pair of ballet flats in it and I just adore this pair in the color Saddle Nappa (size 38 :))
Book-So this is obviously my 40th birthday wish list and my favorite brand, J.Crew also turned 40 this year. And they launched an iconic coffee table book! I absolutely love the idea of this! You know I love J.Crew and I love a good coffee table book too. If I don’t end up getting this for my birthday, I think I am going to have to treat myself to it.
And a couple more things to note that I didn’t include in the collage. I adore Lake Pajamas. They are the most comfy things ever and these days I really appreciate that. I size up to a medium in these and have my eye on this set (in color dusty blue solid), this set (in color marine) and this robe (in color hydrangea).
I’ve also been lusting for the brand Alice Walk for a while now. I’ve heard so many great things about her products. On my wish list is this cashmere sweater (in color foggy grey, size small), this sweatshirt (in white, size small) and this long sleeve t-shirt (in the navy/white stripe, size small).
