Hi there! I wanted to pop in and share how I have been preparing for Easter this year. I have always liked decorating for the holidays. Most holidays, I try and keep pretty simple, except Christmas where I go ALL out. I think it’s fun to have a few small seasonal decor elements in your home. A few bunnies here and there never hurt anyone! haha
Last year after Easter, my mom picked up these adorable bunny plates from Pier 1- on major sale as they were just closing all of their stores at that time. I forgot how cute they were until I pulled them out the other weekend. I pulled this simple table setting together and I plan on recreating it again when we celebrate Easter.
Another inexpensive way to decorate for the holiday is decorating with these egg fillers, similar here. I’ve actually had them for years. Some years I put them in a big bowl (you can see that in this post). But this year I decided to change it up and add them to some candle holders I had. Get creative!
I also have to note that I bought hydrangeas at Trader Joe’s for my table this year and within two days they were dead! This was only my second time buying them and they did this the first time I bought them too. I don’t think I realized how finicky they were! And now I don’t think I will be purchasing them again. The last time I bought them, I tried all the tricks and nothing worked- nothing! It’s really too bad because I think they are such a pretty flower. What am I doing wrong?!
This year for Easter, we plan to keep things simple again this year and it will likely be Kurt & I celebrating together. His family always did a big dinner so we plan on cooking corn beef. And I might also cook a delicious breakfast if I am feeling ambitious haha. Last year, I made these pancakes and wow, they were unbelievable! Although they did send us into a sugar coma and a nap was in order after we were done eating!
I always put together a ‘family’ Easter basket for us all to share. Chocolate for Kurt, some peeps for me and Addie gets a new toy and treat and of course we have to dye Easter eggs! I might just break down and order Addie these adorable bones. I’ve gotten them for her in the past and they are just soooo cute! And she loves them, so it’s a win for everyone.

Another way I am preparing for Easter this year- is what to wear! haha. I wanted to share a few dresses I found while browsing. Do you get fancy for the holiday? It’s usually still pretty cold here in Chicago but I always look forward to the pastels and pretty dresses for the holiday!
