It’s finally sweater weather!!!! And what better way to ring in October with an oversized, comfy sweater. And of course some white jeans! Don’t be afraid to pull those babies out this time of year. I LOVE the look of white denim in the fall and winter (I wear mine year round, but who’s counting?).
It’s been a while since I did one of these posts (sorry, I missed August!), but what better way to celebrate fall with all of my favorite things from this past month. Truthfully September flew by for me. I was so incredibly busy at work and in life in general. But I always like to stay busy so I’m not complaining one bit.
It was also quite the emotional month for me especially after sharing Our Infertility Journey with you all. Both Kurt and I received so many messages after sharing. And many of them were from very unexpected people. We have some pretty amazing friends and family in our lives and we can’t be more thankful for that!
So many couples go thru what we are going thru and don’t talk about it. Our journey isn’t over yet and now that I’ve opened up about it, expect many more posts to come on that subject. But I promise not to turn this blog into an infertility blog- the fashion, home decor and beauty will still all be here. That’s the best part if you ask me!
This month I also started back up with my BBG workouts. I started this workout back in January and loved the program so much. I did it hard core for two straight months and saw such great results. Eventually I had to stop because we started IVF and you can’t do intense physically activities while you are going thru it. I didn’t necessarily lose a ton of weight but I defiantly lost inches. My clothes fit so much better and I felt amazing about myself. It’s the best I’ve ever felt physically.
This is one of the only workout programs that I’ve found to be so easy. While the workouts are still tough, they are short and doable. And it’s so easy to follow. I sort of slacked a bit last week because I wasn’t feeling that great and didn’t want to push myself- I blame it on the weather. But I fully expect to be back at it this week!
Anyways, now on to the good stuff!
September Favorites
- Favorite Purchase- I bought this jacket while my mom and I were out shopping back in July and I immediately fell in love with it! The sales associate put it on hold for me and while thinking it over, I knew I had to have it. Well, when I got it home I was feeling a little guilty about the price tag and almost returned it. But then the first fall day came and this was the first thing I pulled out of my closet. And now I’m obsessed! It is so warm and cute and I know I will wear it a ton.
- Favorite Beauty Item- I originally started using this product by SK-II back in May and was just so so about it. It literally feels like you are just putting water on your face. So I didn’t see any effects it was having on my skin. That is until my bottle ran out and my skin started looking so dull. And I started to break out. I soon realized this product was actually helping my skin. So I grabbed another bottle during the Sephora sale. I always try and stock up on items during these sales (they usually happen twice a year) because beauty items never go on sale. My skin is back to looking refreshed and super hydrated!
- Favorite Pair of Shoes- I have been LIVING in my Golden Goose sneakers!! I’m obsessed. I bought them over the summer but never really wore them that much because it was SO hot. These sneakers usually sell out pretty fast, so when I saw a pair I liked and in my size, I snagged them up as quickly as I could. They are so incredibly comfy and so easy to wear. And they go with a ton. They really do live up to all the hype, I promise they are worth the splurge!
- Favorite Book- I go in waves on reading a ton and not reading at all. I find it to be so soothing to read a little before bed. It helps me relax and unwind and makes me super sleepy. So I’ve been reading Girl, Wash Your Face and it’s so good. The author is so raw and shares so much about her life. I find it to be very inspiring.
- Favorite Show- Kurt has gotten me hooked on Ozark! Have you watched it yet?! Season 1 was a little slow, but OMG season 2 is so good! Now we have to wait an entire year for the next season to come out. We are looking for a new show to get into next- any suggestions?

What’s Next in October
I have some really great content coming your way in October. Expect to see a continuation on our infertility journey. I kept a diary every day of how I was feeling and the experience of what I went thru when we started the IVF process. Those few weeks are pretty intense and there are a ton of appointments so I think you will find it to be very insightful.
I also plan on sharing some pictures of our apartment and doing a review on my Prada tote bag. And I’m finally going to share my skincare routine. I’ve been testing products since the beginning of the year and I’ve finally locked down a routine that doesn’t make me break out. My skin is uber sensitive and anytime I use new products, I always have pimples that pop up. And none of these products make me break out. I’m super excited to share this post because I know how hard it can be to find products that work for your skin.
And Kurt and I are ending the month with a trip to our most favorite city ever- Charleston!! We went there last spring and absolutely loved the city. So when we were thinking of a vacation to go on, it was a no brainer to go back. We did a ton while we were there last year, so I’m excited to see some new things this time and explore a little more.
Happy October!
