I’ve lived in Chicago for almost nine years now! Nine whole years, can you believe that? So, I’ve learned a thing or two about what kind of footwear you need to survive the winters here. And for almost three of those years, I’ve been commuting via train to work, which means I walk thru all sorts of weather conditions every day. Here are the 5 best boots for winter that you need:
Sorel
Jacket: Canada Goose | Vest: Lululemon, similar here and here | Top: Nordstrom | Bottoms: Zella | Shoes: Sorel (old), similar here and here | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban (old), similar here | Earrings: Nordstrom | Lips: MAC Snob with Soar Lip Liner | Hat: J.Crew (sold out), similar here
…
These are hands down my number one go to and defiantly the most warm boot that I own. About four years ago, Chicago had one of the worst winters ever. I had a pair of lackluster boots that did not keep my feet warm at all and everywhere I turned people were wearing a pair of Sorel’s. And it was for very good reason, because they are sooo warm!! By the time I decided I wanted a pair, EVERYWHERE was sold out. I mean literally everywhere. I scoured the internet and even made my mom run around Traverse City with me at Christmas time to find a pair. And even they were sold out! So, I knew the following year that I just had to have a pair and ordered mine in October. I couldn’t take anymore chances!
This is now my third winter with these boots and not only are they warm, but they have held up so nicely. I wear them almost daily in the winter months and they keep my feet nice and toasty warm. Shop them here.
Hunter
Top: Belle’s Boutique, similar here and here | Bottoms: Zella | Shoes: Hunter | Bag: Tory Burch (sold out), similar here and here | Lips: MAC Creme Cup | Hat: J.Crew
…
I typically wear my Hunter boots on days when it’s not frigid out because while they are warm, they aren’t as warm as the Sorel’s. I save these for the days when the snow is slushy or it’s raining out. Shop them here.
Sperry
Top: J.Crew | Bottoms: Madewell | Shoes: Sperry | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban (old), similar here | Lips: MAC Snob with Soar Lip Liner | Hat: J.Crew (sold out), similar here
…
I can’t say more good things about these cute little booties! They are my favorite pair. I think they are just so cute! And they come in an array of colors. These are perfect for the days when it is just starting to get cold or when the weather is finally starting to warm up a bit. I especially love how easy they are to put on. You just slip your foot right in them and boom- you are ready to go . They are also my go too boot for taking Addie out on quick walks. Shop them here.
Sorel Wedges
Top: Abercrombie & Fitch | Bottoms: Madewell, also here | Shoes: Sorel, similar here and here | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban, similar here | Bag: Louis Vuitton, similar here and here | Earrings: Nordstrom | Watch: Shinola | Lips: MAC Snob with Soar Lip Pencil
…
If you live in a snowy state like I do, you defiantly need a cute pair of boots that you can dress up if you need to. I bought this pair a couple of years ago at the Nordstrom anniversary sale and all of my friends immediately went out after and bought them too! You don’t even feel like you are wearing a heel or wedge either. They are seriously sooo comfortable! Shop them here.
Ugg Slippers
Sweater: Abercrombie & Fitch | Top: Nordstrom | Bottoms: Zella | Slippers: Ugg | Watch: Michele, band here | Lips: MAC Snob with Soar Lip Liner
…
Now, I know these aren’t really considered a boot, but I had to add these in because during the winter months we are all cooped up at home. And when you are lounging around the house, you need to keep your feet warm too. And these make for the perfect slipper. Shop them here.
What are your most worn boot for winter? I’m always on the hunt for new ones that are cute and stylish!
