Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is having a great week so far. It’s always so hard coming back from vacation. Even though we got home a week ago, I still feel like I am playing catch up. And it’s always so hard to get back into the swing of things and my workouts. At least I walked a TON last week at Disney. That has to count for something, right?!?!
I’ve talked about Zella leggings before (read about them in this post), but I felt like I needed to re-iterate this. They are the best workout leggings EVER! The fit, colors and durability are all top notch. I reach for them every chance I get. And I always say that when you have a cute outfit to wear, you workout much harder. Or it inspires you to workout because you want to wear your new outfit. And these leggings won’t break the bank either. The basic colors are only $54 and as you start to add more detail or design, they go up. But they are still WAY cheaper than other retailers.
And I also wanted to touch on my favorite workouts because I get this question asked a lot. Right now, I belong to Class Pass. And if you haven’t heard about it, I would highly recommend it because it’s amazing! Unfortunately they don’t offer it in all cities so that’s a bummer, but they are expanding all the time. Class Pass is basically a gym membership, but you don’t belong to one specific gym. You get to choose from ALL kinds of different classes from barre, TRX, bootcamp to yoga. And they have different types of memberships to fit your needs. I have the 5 class a month package because I have a gym in my building that I like to use too. And I like to mix up my workouts.
Here is a breakdown of my favorite workouts:
Barre
I have been addicted to Pure Barre and Dailey Method for a couple of years now. I use to do Pure Barre about 2-3 times a week, but it’s pretty pricey, so I had cut back. This is one of my most favorite workouts and really the only thing that has ever given me muscle definition. And abs. I never had ab strength until I started doing barre. And I love how intense the workout is, but you don’t sweat. Which makes it great to do on the weekends because you can still run errands after without looking like a mess!
I do both Pure Barre and Dailey Method and it’s really hard for me to pick a favorite. They are both similar, yet different. Dailey Method is defiantly easier when you are first starting out in barre, at least I thought so. The moves are a bit easier and they guide you into position better. With Pure Barre it took me about five classes to really know what I was doing and what muscle groups I was working. Some of the positions are a little strange, but once you figure it all out, you feel that burn and tone!
Yoga
The one yoga class that I tried thru Class Pass was hot yoga at CorePower. And I haven’t been back since. This was before I really got into yoga, so I do need to try it again. The room was just too hot for me. I felt like I was concentrating more on not fainting then doing my actual workout. My work offers yoga at lunch time twice a week, so that’s where I mostly practice.
Yoga is my most favorite new workout and I’m so happy I got into. It has helped so much with reducing my stress level and making me more calm (read more about my yoga journey here). And it’s a great workout. My arms are always sore after I haven’t done it in a while!
Pilates
I just started doing pilates and it is so amazing!!! My favorite gym to do this is at is Pilates ProWorks which is right up the street from me, so it’s very convenient. My whole body is usually shaking after I leave the studio. And my abs are always sore for days. I love that you still get a cardio workout in as well. I think sometimes I breath harder in this workout than anything else I do. It gets intense!
Bootcamp
This is one of the most intense workouts ever, but I am totally hooked! You basically get a full body workout in including some cardio. It’s just an all around great workout and I love that it targets all areas of my body. Lifting weights is really good too. This workout takes a few classes to get up to speed (it’s really hard!), but every class after that, you can challenge yourself even more. My building was offering this as a free workout once a week, but sadly they have now gotten rid of it. So I am in search of a good bootcamp class to take thru Class Pass. Stay tuned- I will let you know when I find one!
What are you favorite workouts to do? And what do you like to wear while working out?
