I feel like this time of year, I always go into de-cluttering mode. Christmas is all about more is more and then once you take it down, I want everything clean and sleek again. At least that is how I feel. This time of year, I also like to add to my home organization. Little by little because it gets expensive! I want my kitchen to be more organized, my linen closet to not look like a disaster every time I open it, my pantry to be sleek and easy to find stuff. You get the point!
So today, I wanted to share my top 11 home organization items. These are things I’ve used for years and just work for my family and I. I know I hit on this above, but I’ve really taken these projects slow. The extra bins and whatnot that you need add up quickly. So don’t think your entire house needs to be redone all at once-unless you want to! I try to take a new space every few months and think about how I can make it more organized and easier to manage. I’ve found that adding the extra bins and storage compartments really keeps stuff under control. And when things do get a little out of hand, it’s a lot easier to get back on track and get organized again.
My Top 11 Home Organization Items
Clear Pantry Bin | White Basket | Stackable Storage Bin | Drawer Organizer for Utensils | Pop Container | Label Maker | Desk Drawer Organizer | Pet Food Storage | Drawer Dividers | Spice Jars with Labels | Grey Storage Basket
…
Clear Pantry Bin– I really need to share my finished pantry with you so I have that on my list to do in the next few weeks. But I have these bins all over. I used mostly the narrow and large ones. But it depends on your space. These are really nice because they are clear so you can see what is in them. They help to keep your pantry so much more organized too.
White Basket– I use these white baskets on the top shelf of my pantry. And I use them to store extra flour, sugar, etc. that doesn’t quite fit in the containers.
Stackable Storage Bin– These storage bins are a little more expensive but they are so worth it because they are stackable. And when you stack them, the top doesn’t collapse! I started to buy these in Chicago when we were tight on storage space and had to stack them. And now I use these in my basement to store everything under the sun haha.
Drawer Organizer for Utensils– I bought this organizer for my utensils when we first moved and it has been so nice and sturdy. I like the extra compartments it has and it takes up the full drawer so there is no wasted space.
Pop Container– These containers are an absolute must for your pantry storage! They make things look so much nicer and a lot easier to find. They come in a lot of different sizes, but my top used ones are the 1.7 QT and 2.7 QT.
Label Maker– I just bought this label maker and it has been a game changer. Before I was using sticky notes to label all of my containers in my pantry and it just looked messy. I know you can buy fancy, cuter labels, but I liked how I could personalize my labels. My next small project is to label all my bins in the basement.
Desk Drawer Organizer– I actually haven’t purchased these yet, but it’s next on my project list! These would be perfect to help organize our messy drawer better and to also get my desk more organized. It’s the little things!
Pet Food Storage– We have two of these pet food containers to store our cat food and dog food. It is so nice that they are on wheels so you can wheel it out to fill the bowls up, clean. And it keeps the food air tight.
Drawer Dividers– I bought these drawer dividers when we first moved in and used them to organize our utensil drawer for all the random kitchen stuff we use. It really helps to make things look neater and easier to find.
Spice Jars with Labels– This will be my next home organization project. Right now, I have a small spice cabinet that pulls out which is really nice. But I can never find anything! My plan is to add everything in matching jars and then add the labels to the top of the jar so I can find things more easily. This will save me so much time when I cook. I swear, finding spices gives me a headache every time I cook dinner. I can never find the ones I need! So this is a little project that I know will save me a ton of time.
Grey Storage Basket– I absolutely love these storage baskets and have been using them for years! They come in a ton of different shapes and sizes. And I literally use them in every space of my home. Under the sink, my laundry room, Kurt’s closet, linen closet, bathroom, basement shelving, etc. I swear, every time I am at Target I pick some up because I am always in need of them. I personally like the grey color. You would think I would have gone for the white, which I almost bought originally. But I thought the white would yellow and look dingy over time. I really like that the grey sort of hides everything. These are seriously the best! Here are some of the other sizes I found online of these baskets:
