Rug | Artwork | Rattan Cart | Lamp | Basket | Upholstered Cube

A few weeks ago, we decided to take down the baby gate that led upstairs. We couldn’t rememebr the last time we even had to use it. And it was just in the way all the time. You had to walk over it. And it was difficult for Sloane to get around. She’s actualy gotten really good at the staris lately, so it was time to remove it! Of course it now feels like a brand new space and I had to get in there and spruce it up a bit.
So, I added a couple of new things to our entryway space and I wanted to share them. It all started when we did some minor updates to our kitchen. You can read about that here. I ended up taking the rug from our entryway and put it in the kitchen. So we didn’t really have a rug in our entryway. I was using this one as a place holder and just to have something there. It was way too small, so kind of looked silly. But now that we started our powder bath update, I plan to add that rug to the bathroom which would leave my entryway empty. By the way, the powder bath update is taking wayyyy longer than Kurt and I expected. Finding the time to even get to it has been hard with a toddler! So we are taking our time with it. One day it will get done! See our plans here.
New Rug in Our Entryway
…
Anyway, our entryway was going to be bare. And I can’t have that haha. Plus I know winter is upon us and we needed a new rug. I randomly came across this rug and knew it would be perfect. So I ordered it immediately! I am super impressed with this rug. If I needed more rugs, I would absolutely order it in a bigger size- it’s really good especially for the price. It’s thick and has a really nice backing to it so you don’t need a rug pad.
And what I really liked about this rug is that it is offered in a ton of sizes. The original rug I had there was a 3×5 and while it did fit really nicely, it justtt fit. I like being able to show off my floors a little in between so I was able to get a 2’3″x5′ which is the perfect size for this entryway. I had no idea a rug even came in this size. Eventually, I thought I was going to have to have a custom one made. But not anymore!
I always thought one day I would invest in a rug for my entryway- this is the one I’ve been lusting over. While I do love this rug and it looks like this Etsy store could make a custom one, it makes me nervous spending that much on a rug that we are going to wipe our feet on and get all the snow on. I know these kinds of rugs are meant to withstand that, but still! Someday, I would love to invest in this rug and maybe during the winter time switch it out for one that isn’t as expensive. These are the things I think about haha.
New Artwork in Our Entryway

And I also added these two intaglio pieces of artwork which are the perfect fit. I’ve been obsessing over them for a while now- maybe over a year! And I finally decided I needed to order them before they stopped making them haha. When I got them, I was even able to talk Kurt into hanging them for me. We have been really nervous to hang stuff on our own. Usually I hire someone haha. But then you at least know it’s done right and it gets done!
I truly love how the new rug and new artwork look, espeically. It’s a completely new space now.
