Happy Monday! Today I’m bringing you an outfit idea of what to wear for Valentine’s Day. Can you believe it’s next week already? Where did the year go? I can’t get over it, but that means we are one step closer to nicer, warmer weather.
Valentine’s Day is always a special holiday for me because that is when Kurt and I first began our relationship…..11 years ago! It’s crazy that it has already been that long. Eleven years ago I was still in college and Kurt lived back in the Detroit area. I was randomly home for the weekend so I asked if he wanted to meet up with some friends for a drink. We had so much fun together that night and we were inseparable. That night we stayed up into the wee hours just talking and laughing.
I had always had a huge crush on Kurt but the timing for us never worked out. In college we were always friends and chatted with each other while we were at parties, but nothing ever came of it. If you ask any of my college girlfriends, you would know that I always called him my future husband. I always knew there was something special about him.
So fast forward to our night in Detroit, I was so ecstatic about how much fun we had! The next day I went back to school and we both went on with our lives. A few days later it was Valentine’s Day, so I texted him wishing him a Happy Valentine’s Day. From that moment on we talked for hours on the phone and saw each other every chance we could. The rest is history!
This year we decided to stay at home, so we don’t have any plans. Kurt is being super boring! But we did agree we would stay in since we are going on vacation in a couple f weeks. I usually love to get all decked out and go to a fancy dinner to celebrate. One year, I even made a dinner reservation in October celebrate the holiday. Kurt thought I was crazy, until he was enjoying his delicious steak and chocolate cake (we went to RPM Steak for you Chicago peeps!). So this year will be a little different than what we typical do, but I’m excited to relax and home in my cozy pj’s!
So, while I won’t be wearing this super cute outfit this year, I will live vicariously thru you- what are you wearing and doing this year for Valentine’s Day?
