I have had two winter weddings to attend to this year….two! That is so crazy to me! We attended one about a month ago and I want to share part two of what to wear to a winter wedding (part one can be found here). I love to get dressed up so any chance I get, I like to go all out :). You only get to do it once in a while.
This wedding was in Grand Rapids, so we had a night away. And in true winter fashion we were late getting into town. We hit some snow and the drive was kind of scary. And of course we left too late because who wants to have extra time to waste? Lol. I literally got ready in about 5 minutes when we finally arrived and I was waiting on my husband to tie his tie….what?!?! Yes he doesn’t know how to do it and he was trying to watch every YouTube video he could find.
I absolutely adore this dress. The second I put it on, I knew it was a ‘me’ dress. I love the long sleeves, the color and all the ruffles! It looks black, but in person it is a very deep navy. Originally I was planning on wearing this one in green and stepping outside of my comfort zone a little (hello v-neck). But I went with what I felt good in and what I knew I would wear again. I find that to be super important when getting dressed up. You still have to feel like yourself.
And it’s funny because that morning when I was getting my hair done (yes I had these curls done, do you think I could do this myself?) she offered up that I should go with a bold lip. And that was right up my alley. I kept my makeup simple and went with it! This lip stain is one of the best that I have worn so far. I only re-applied it once that night and I didn’t even really need to. And my lips were this bold berry color all night.
