I bought a Fitbit about six months ago and have loved it ever since! If you have not jumped on the bandwagon yet of owning one, I am going to give you 5 reasons why you need to buy a FitBit.

You are more active
Before I got my Fitbit I thought I easily got 10,000 steps a day. It seemed like no biggie to me, but you would be very surprised! I walk to and from the train every day, take Addie for walks, workout, make dinner, etc. I don’t come home and just plop myself on the couch, but I was shocked that a lot of days I was coming up short of the 10,000 step goal! What I began to notice is I was very inactive during work every day. The building I work in is not very big and I spend the majority of my day either at my desk or in a very small section of our office. I set my Fitbit to buzz at me every hour that I haven’t moved so I know to get up and at least do a quick lap around my floor. There have been so many nights I would be so close to reaching my goal and I would decide to go on a quick walk or run in order to reach 10,000 steps.

It counts your calories burned for the day
One of the features that I like the most is it keeps track of the calories you burn for the day. You can also input all of the food you eat daily into the app. If you are trying to lose weight, the goal is obviously to take in less calories than you are burning. It keeps you honest about your fitness goals!
-
You get competitive with your friends and family
You can find your family and friends easily thru your contacts and every week an email is sent with how many steps they took that week. It keeps it competitive that’s for sure! And you don’t want to be on the bottom week after week.

Your sleep schedule is tracked
I think this is a pretty cool feature. If you wear your watch to sleep at night it will track your sleep. It tells you what time you fell asleep, what time you woke up, if you were restless at all during the night. If you were restless during the night it tells you how long you were awake. It’s a good gauge on the average amount of sleep you are getting and if you are getting a good nights sleep. Sleep is soooo important for your body and for your skin! You need to be well rested in order to eat better and make better life choices. And its so important to get quality sleep in order for your skin to be healthy. I always notice I begin to break out more when I don’t get my eight hours of sleep.

It tracks your workouts
I love that I can use my Fitbit to during my workouts which is initially why I bought the watch. I wanted to know how many calories I was burning and what my heart rate was while doing a workout class. Every workout I track this, so then I know where I am at. Then the next workout I can push myself even harder.
FitBit Models
There are a few different models out there now. The model I have is called the Blaze, which is the mid level watch. I choose this one because I like that the face of it is like a watch. It is a little bulky, but overall I really like it. There is the Surge which is the highest model. This one has a GPS feature on it, so if you run outdoors a lot you might like this one. The entry level Fitbits are the Alta and Charge 2. In my opinion the screens are a bit small on these two versions so that is why I went with the Blaze, but it is all personal preference. They have all kinds of bands to personalize your watch like this leather one or pink one. Fitbit now makes a scale, which I would love to get! You can weigh yourself every morning and it plugs in your weight into the app. This is great if you are trying to lose weight.
My Outfit
This outfit is one of my favs and what I basically live in on the weekends. I first wrote about my love for Zella leggings in this post and these are the high waisted version. Sadly this color is sold out, but I love this blue color and also this cropped version of the pink. My tee is my favorite Madewell v-neck in heather pewter. For reference I am wearing a size medium. I like the length it gives you in the bigger sizes. Also, these are one of my favorite pairs of shoes! They go with everything and look so cute with jeans, shorts, and casual outfits. I have had them for years and keep pulling them out every spring. Sadly my jacket is from a few seasons ago, but I found a similar one on sale- shop it here!
My Fitbit has helped me a lot in reaching my fitness goals. It at least keeps me more active! And you are so proud of yourself when you hit your 10,000 steps everyday or even when you are crazy active one day and walk 15,000 or 20,000 steps!
